Payments Officer
Job Description
My client, a prestigious international bank based in the heart of the city, is seeking a dedicated professional to join their dynamic team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient processing of payments/clearing and supporting the reconciliation and settlements of treasury and loan business.
**Principal Purpose of the Job:**
- Process payments/clearing and assist with reconciliations and settlements of treasury and loan business.
**Reporting Relationship:**
- The successful candidate will report to the team head and work closely with various departments within the bank.
**Main Responsibilities & Accountabilities:**
1. Process payments and inquiries received from our clients and/or agent banks in SCMS.
2. Utilize knowledge of SWIFT and SWIFT formats to process payments in SCMS and FOVA.
3. Open and manage new Vostro accounts within the system.
4. Actively participate in system upgrades and the development of new products.
5. Perform journal entries and accruals in FOVA.
6. Handle Nostro transfers and maintain Nostro positions.
7. Prepare monthly reports for the Head Office, agent banks, and Management.
8. Ensure the maintenance of static data and records filing.
**Other Tasks Include:**
- Cover various operational areas such as treasury settlement, loans, trade services, correspondence, and reconciliation as required.
- Adhere to AML rules and procedures, ensuring compliance across all activities.
- Maintain evidence for all AML checks for audit trail purposes and report any suspicious transactions in accordance with the Bank’s policy.
- Conduct daily CASS review operations to ensure compliance with established policies.
**Skills Required:**
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of interacting with different departments.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and delegate when necessary.
- Accurate reporting skills.
- A good team player, responsible for both personal and team actions.
- Mandarin language skills are preferable but not mandatory.
